2008 BAYS UNITED PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

1. Bays FC U12 and U13 Division Training

The Bays United Technical Director and Staff coaches provide a player and coach development/support program for U12 and U13 teams on Mondays and Wednesdays at Finlayson Turf. The Division training requires that all U12 teams schedule at one of their training sessions on Mondays and U13 on Wednesday s for the entire year.

The program follows the strict Canadian Soccer Association “Wellness to World Cup” player development program that has Boys and Girls team’s alternate practices with the Technical Staff. The focus of the program is:

  • age appropriate skill development to BUYSA players
  • to identify and correct potential technical weaknesses
  • improve and develop each player’s qualities, and confidence
  • teach players to solve problems in all areas of the field

U12 Mon 5:30 – 7pm Finlayson Turf (entire season)                       U13 Wed 5:30 - 7pm Finlayson Turf (Sept to Oct)

2. The Bays United “More Touches on the ball” program at Finlayson Turf

The Bays United “More Touches on the ball” program is open to Gold, Silver and Bronze players who have a passion for soccer and wish to get “more touches” and try new skills in a fun, non competitive and relaxed environment. The program will also feature 5v5 or 6v6 small sided games.

U10-U11 Sundays 6-7:15pm Finlayson Turf                       U13-U16 Sundays 6-7:15pm Finlayson Turf

3. The Bays United Goal-Keeping Program at Finlayson Turf

Bays United offers goalkeeper sessions for beginner, intermediate and advanced players with a commitment to goalkeeping.

U10-U11 Sundays 6-7:15pm Finlayson Turf

U13-U16 Sundays 6-7:15pm Finlayson Turf

Bays United Technical Directors

Bays United FC has 2 Technical Directors who provide ongoing coaching development programs to teams and support to coaches in the U6-U11 House League and U12-U18 citywide programs. As well, the club has identified selected Staff Coaches who work with Technical Directors to provide player and coach development for the teams.

To receive coaching assistance including Staff coach Assistance, teams U12-U18 please contact the Technical Director, Eddie Mukahanana via email at baysunited@emsports.ca.

If Eddie Mukahanana is not available then an appropriate Staff coach will be assigned to your team for 2 practice sessions in each half of the season.

(11 March 2009) Bays United alumnus Adam Straith (U8-U12 Bays, followed by U13-U17 Metro, now Vancouver Whitecaps residency program) played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Mexico on March 9, 2009. FAQ for December 2008: What is our club's Intra-Club Permit Policy?

Bays United follows the LISA policy. LISA allows teams in a club to bring up players from a lower division to play in league games by using an Intra-Club Permit. Intra-Club Permits cannot be used for Cup Play. The Intra-Club Permit is found on the LISA Website in the forms page. A maximum of 3 players are allowed to be permitted for any given game.
