Game Formats

Game Formats in U6-U11 Divisions

There is a general consensus among the technical coaching staff of national soccer associations around the world that small-sided soccer is best suited to teaching soccer to young children. In keeping with this thinking, and based on experience, Bays United FC uses small-sided or "mini" soccer formats in our U6-U11 programs.  (Bays United was actually one of the first clubs in BC to make this move, starting in the early 1990s.)

The following are the game formats in each of our age divisions. Please note that actual field dimensions may vary according to the field facilities available to our programs.

FAQ for December 2008: What is our club's Intra-Club Permit Policy?

Bays United follows the LISA policy. LISA allows teams in a club to bring up players from a lower division to play in league games by using an Intra-Club Permit. Intra-Club Permits cannot be used for Cup Play. The Intra-Club Permit is found on the LISA Website in the forms page. A maximum of 3 players are allowed to be permitted for any given game.
