Uniform Policy
RationaleThe club uniform plays an integral part in the forging of club identity and in building both a sense of community and of pride in the organization. This can only be accomplished if all Bays teams wear the complete club uniform so that no matter what the division, no matter what the occasion, the team can be readily identified as representing the Bays United Youth Soccer Association. This underscores the fact that we are a single club that exists to support and encourage its members, and not simply a collection of many individual and separate entities. Policy
- Club Colours and Logo (U12 - U18 Teams)
The colours worn by all teams of the BUYSA shall be green (Pantone 340),black and white and are to display the approved club logo (see figure 1) on the front of the uniform (jersey) and player numbers on the back. The club logo shall be used on any club-originated team wear and advertising.
 Figure 1: BUYSA Logo
The BUYSA executive must approve any changes to club colours and logo. Any proposed changes to the club colours and/or the logo must be submitted in writing to the executive for review and approval.
- Team Uniforms (U12 - U18 Teams)
The executive of BUYSA will approve and provide team uniforms to all U12 - U18 players registered with the club. The club uniform consists of socks and a jersey (top). These are shown in the adjoining photo (figure 2) and are described as follows:
- 1 Jersey (top) that is of solid dark green with white sleeves and collar. The club logo is displayed on the front and numbers affixed on the back.
- 1 Pair of green and black striped socks
Unless approved by the executive no names, badges or logos shall be attached to any part of the uniform except for the official BUYSA logo.
An elected executive member shall be charged with the responsibility for purchasing, distributing and collecting all club uniforms during each playing season. He/she shall submit in writing a yearly budget and have an ongoing program in place to upgrade the club's inventory of uniforms.
The uniform provided by the club must be worn for all league, cup, BCSA tournament and exhibition games. The coach and manager of any team that wears a uniform other than that provided by the club will be called upon to appear before the executive and be subject to disciplinary action.
- Alternative Uniforms (U12 - U18 Teams)
Alternative jerseys (tops) may be worn by Bays United teams if, and only if, a ruling by the governing district or provincial soccer administrative body deems it necessary so that there is a clear distinction between the jerseys of the club and their opposition.
Under these above mentioned conditions, alternative jerseys will be provided by the club for one of:
- Lower Island Cup or Island Finals when Bays is the home team
- Provincial Cup play when Bays is home or away
- Uniform Ownership & Deposit Cheques (U12 - U18 Teams)
All uniform items (jerseys only) issued to players are on loan from the club and must be returned to the club at the end of the player's last league or cup game. To ensure that all loaned items are returned in good condition, each player must provide at registration time, a post-dated cheque for an amount required to cover the cost of replacing lost or damaged items. The uniform deposit amount will be set each year by the executive and will be stated on the club's registration form for that year.
- Distribution & Collection of Uniforms (U12 - U18 Teams)
The executive member in charge of uniforms shall each soccer season set the dates and times to allow team officials to pickup and return all loaned uniform items. Each team's coach or manager must sign a uniform inventory sheet listing all uniforms issued to that team. These uniform inventory sheets are shown as appendices 1 and 2 (see Equipment & Uniform Inventory Worksheets on the forms web page). Upon returning their team's uniforms at season's end, team officials shall provide the executive member responsible for uniforms with the names of any players who have lost or damaged their uniforms. The executive member will then collect the uniform deposit cheque for the lost or damaged item from the club registrar and turn the cheque over to the treasurer for cashing.
All uniform items must be returned by team officials to the executive member in charge of uniforms at the completion of the team's last league or cup game. Club teams in Island or Provincial Cup play may retain their loaned items until completion of their last cup game but first must return all items for an inventory check before they will be reissued for continued cup play.

The executive of BUYSA will approve and provide team uniforms to all U7 - U11 players registered with the club. The uniform will consist of the following items:
- Under 7/8 Age Divisions

- 1 Pair of green and black striped socks (players keep)
- Under 9,10,11 Age Divisions
- 1 Reversible jersey in green/white or yellow/white colours
- 1 Pair of green and black striped socks (players keep)

FAQ for December 2008: What is our club's Intra-Club Permit Policy?
Bays United follows the LISA policy. LISA allows teams in a club to bring up players from a lower division to play in league games by using an Intra-Club Permit. Intra-Club Permits cannot be used for Cup Play. The Intra-Club Permit is found on the LISA Website in the forms page. A maximum of 3 players are allowed to be permitted for any given game.
