FAQs

What is U6-U11 House League?

This is a mini-soccer program for beginning players, which emphasizes fun and development over competition. All children 5 - 10 years old, regardless of skill level or experience, are welcome to join Bays United house league soccer.

Mission

To provide a fun, safe and positive environment for young soccer players and their families. House League stresses the value of participation and positive support over winning, and it is committed to helping players develop basic individual skills and team play.

Goals

  • To introduce young players to the game of soccer, fostering a lifelong interest in the game and encouraging lifelong wellness.
  • To develop basic individual skills and team play according to a logical teaching pathway.
  • To provide long-term development and prepare players for full-sized 11-a-side soccer at U13.

My daughter is seven before Christmas. Should she play in U8 Girls or U8 Coed?

It's your choice, subject to availability (i.e. in Girls division). Please note: There is no girls-only program prior to U8.

I am concerned that my child is especially small/large for their age. Can they play down/up one division?

The "Playing up Policy" is listed under "Club Information" on this website.  You can request to have your child assessed at an older or younger division.  However, Bays generally recommends that your child attend their age-appropriate assessment (i.e. their birth year).  Following the assessment session, the U6-U11 Technical Director and coaches may recommend that your child plays up or down an age level, if they have concerns about age suitability.

I am interested in coaching, assistant coaching, or managing a team. Who do I contact?

Please email the Division Coordinator for your child's age division, listed on this website under "Coordinators" under "Club Information."

I have concerns about the conduct of a coach, player or parent. Who can I contact to discuss my concern?

Please email in confidence the Division Coordinator for the age division concerned.   A list of Division Coordinators and their email addresses is located on this website under "Coordinators."   Alternatively, you may contact the U6-U11 Program Coordinator in confidence.

FAQ for December 2008: What is our club's Intra-Club Permit Policy?

Bays United follows the LISA policy. LISA allows teams in a club to bring up players from a lower division to play in league games by using an Intra-Club Permit. Intra-Club Permits cannot be used for Cup Play. The Intra-Club Permit is found on the LISA Website in the forms page. A maximum of 3 players are allowed to be permitted for any given game.
