Field Guidelines
Coaches found in contravention of Field Use Guidelines may be called before the Executive and subjected to disciplinary action.
- Reducing Wear On Grass Fields
- When practicing on any grass field never run your drills inside the 6-yard box as it is the first part of the field to deteriorate. If portable goals are available, move them out of the 18-yard box.
- Run your practices over your entire practice area so as to distribute the overall wear and tear. This is best accomplished by running your drills across the field and using the corners and sideline areas.
- Daily Field Status Reports - Is The Field Open or Closed For Practice or Games
- It is the responsibility of every coach/manager to check the Bays Field Information Line the day of their practice and game if there has been rainfall within 24 hours of their scheduled practice or game. The Field Information Line (598-2297 or 598-BAYS) is updated Mon-Fri at 4pm by the field scheduler. It will state which fields are open and closed for that particular day. The field information line is updated Saturday at 8am, if necessary at 5pmand also at 8am on Sundays.
- If there is standing water on the grass field when you arrive for practice - cancel it. It takes just one usage on a rain soaked field to ruin it for the rest of the season.
- Neighborhood Respect
- After each practice and game, make sure no garbage has been left behind by your team If it is a game situation then this duty includes the area used by your opposition.
- Lower the portable goal frames down after each practice or game if no other team follows yours. Do Not Drop the frames as this will break them. The lowering of frames while not in use will reduce the chance of an accident happening.
- Respect the privacy of neighbors by keeping your team's noise to a respectable level - no screaming or foul language.
- Please have your team and opposition park in areas NOT designated as residential. Those teams using Henderson are asked to review and follow the Henderson Usage Policy.
- Field Assignments For Games and Practices
- Teams may only use the field assigned to them by the field scheduler for all practices and games. Any change in day, time and field must first be approved by the field scheduler.
- Teams are permitted to use only their assigned time. Do not show up and expect to practice during another team's time. Practices are allocated in one-hour segments and start/finish on the hour. Please start and finish your practices on time.
- Practices and Games At Beacon Hill
- Please try and park vehicles on the field side of Douglas Road and not across the street in front of the residences.
- Do not use any grassed area including the baseball diamond next to the North all-weather soccer field. All soccer activity including warm-up must be done on the non-grass surface.
- If no teams arrive when your practice is over, please turn off the lights and lock the light control box.
- Teams sharing a field must also share the use of the goal frames on a weekly rotational basis.
- Practices and Games At Henderson
- All teams using Henderson Park must abide by the Henderson Park User Policy. This policy has been sent to all teams assigned to the park and is available on the club web site (www.baysunited.ca). Failure to comply with this policy may result in penalties being assessed against the Bays team and these penalties may include revocation of the teams access to Henderson Park.
- Please use the parking lots at the Henderson Recreation Center or Uplands Elementary.Do not park, drop-off or pick-up on Henderson or Avondale Road. The club requires this cooperation from all team officials, parents and players if we are to continue receiving support from local council on our future development plans for the Henderson/Uplands venue.
- Teams are not to use the grassed area along the Henderson Road side of the field to warm-up.
- Teams and their opposition are also not to warm-up on the Henderson Mini field outside the baseball diamond as this is just for U9 and U10 house league games. It will be left unplayable if older teams use it.
- Teams wishing to do some body stretching/warm-up 10-15 minutes before their practice begins may do so in the area at south end of the field leading to Uplands Elementary. This is where teams and their opposition should warm-up while waiting to get onto the field on game day.
- Practices At The Windsor Lighted Practice Area
- Teams assigned to this practice area must dial in a combination on the padlock to unlock the light panel. Once the panel is open flick on the marked light switch.Teams assigned practice time here will be given the lock combination by the field scheduler.
- If no team follows your practice please turn the lights off and lock the padlock.
- The area for practice is between the baseball diamond and the rugby goal posts.Do not practice on the main soccer or field hockey fields. A thick white line marks southern limit of the practice area so that teams do not practice on the game fields.

FAQ for December 2008: What is our club's Intra-Club Permit Policy?
Bays United follows the LISA policy. LISA allows teams in a club to bring up players from a lower division to play in league games by using an Intra-Club Permit. Intra-Club Permits cannot be used for Cup Play. The Intra-Club Permit is found on the LISA Website in the forms page. A maximum of 3 players are allowed to be permitted for any given game.
